A PARIAH or OUTCAST is one who is OSTRACIZED from a community. To OSTRACIZE is to cast out or expel from a community. When a STUDENT is EXPELLED from the SCHOOL, he/she is ostracized. When an ATTORNEY (lawyer) is DISBARRED (expelled) from his/her BAR (association), he/she is OSTRACIZED. Hence, STUDENT: EXPEL ATTORNEY: DISBAR Expulsion from a COMMUNITY is called OSTRACISM. Expulsion from a CHURCH is called EXCOMMUNICATION Expulsion from a NATION is called DEPORTATION or EXILE or BANISHMENT. So, SCHOOL: EXPULSION CHURCH: EXCOMMUNICATION NATION: DEPORTATION COMMUNITY: OSTRACISM

XXXIII: THE OUTCASTS
It was the day of BAKRID yesterday, so I went on a holiday. Today, I thought, I would begin with the idea at the back of BAKRID. BAKRID, in fact, is in memory of the first BAKRA (goat) that ABRAHAM sacrificed in place of his son, ISSAHAC. Instead of ISSSAHAC the goat got killed. In other words, the goat became a SCAPEGOAT. A SCAPEGOAT, thus, is one who gets blamed or sacrificed for the mistakes or sins of others. A scapegoat receives BLAME from the community, in the same way as an IDOL (STAR) receives ADORATION and admiration from the community; or Justas a LAGUHING-STOCK (a person mocked by everyone) receives RIDICULE and scorn from the community; or an ANATHEMA (one cursed by a religious community) receives CURSE from others; or just as a PARIAH or OUTCAST (one expelled from a community) receives HATRED from others. Hence,
SCAPEGOAT: BLAME is similar to
IDOL: ADORATION is similar to
ANATHEMA: CURSE is similar to
PARIAH: DISLIKE is similar to
LAUGHING-STOCK: RIDICULE
